Tinker Kids USA is not a lecture, a worksheet, or a sit-still-and-listen experience. When children arrive at a workshop, they get to work. They explore with their hands, test their ideas, and ask every question that comes to mind — in a safe, guided environment where curiosity is always the right answer.
Build
Put pieces together, test structures, and see what holds — and what doesn't.
Examine
Look closely at how everyday objects are made, from the outside in.
Disassemble
Safely take things apart under supervision to find out what's inside.
Connect
Explore basic circuits, wiring, and how electricity flows through everyday devices.
Measure
Use real tools to measure, mark, and plan like an engineer.
Experiment
Test ideas, observe results, and try a different approach when something doesn't work.

What Parents and Caregivers Should Know
We want every family to feel informed, comfortable, and confident before the first workshop. Here's what to expect.
Before You Arrive
- Programs are free unless clearly stated otherwise for a special event.
- Activities are supervised by trained facilitators at all times.
- Safety equipment (will be provided) must be worn as instructed throughout the workshop - this applies to children, parents, caregivers, and providers.
- Depending on the program, a parent or caregiver may be required to remain onsite. Registration details will confirm whether this applies.
- Children should wear comfortable clothing suitable for hands-on activities.
- Closed-toe shoes are recommended and may be required. Specific requirements will be shared before the event.
- Registration may be required because space is limited; sign up early!
A Note on Safety Equipment
Safety glasses are not optional. Every child, parent, or provider must wear appropriate safety equipment during designated activities. This is a firm requirement, not a suggestion, because we take everyones safety seriously.

Tinker Kids USA is built on the belief that curiosity has no prerequisites. We design our programs so that children with different learning styles, physical abilities, backgrounds, and experience levels can all participate meaningfully. Whether your child has never held a screwdriver or is already taking apart radios at home — there is a place for them at our workshop.

- We want to know what your family needs. If your child has an accommodation need, please share it during registration so we can prepare.
No child should be left on the outside of a learning opportunity because of what they can or cannot do. Tell us what you need, and we will do our best to make it work.
